Buzzing Cities of Toyko & Osaka

I had the chance to visit some major cities in Japan, such as Tokyo and Osaka. Both cities offer a wonderful blend of traditional culture and modern attractions. From what I experienced, Tokyo is renowned for its fast-paced lifestyle, fascinating architecture that combines new and traditional buildings, and trendsetting fashion scene, which made me feel like I needed to revamp my whole wardrobe after. Districts like Harajuku and Shibuya are known for their unique and innovative styles. On the other hand, Osaka is famous as Japan’s culinary capital, offering delicious street food, historic castles, and vibrant entertainment districts.

Cultural Heritage

Nestled in the heart of Japan, Kyoto captivated me like no other city. Embraced by breathtaking natural landscapes, its tranquil and unhurried pace invited me to immerse myself in every moment, allowing me to savour the peace and beauty that surrounded me. With over 2,000 temples and historic structures, as well as enchanting bamboo forests, Kyoto is a place where time seems to stand still, offering a glimpse into centuries of rich culture and tradition. My experience in Kyoto included partaking in age-old customs, such as a traditional tea ceremony.

Culinary Adventures

During my trip, the food was a major highlight for me. I indulged in fresh tuna at Kuromon Ichiba Market in Osaka and relished a bowl of rich, flavorful ramen at a small, hidden alleyway restaurant. Every meal was delightful. The street food desserts, particularly dango (rice flour dumplings) and taiyaki (fish-shaped cakes), were among my top two favourite dishes. As a self-proclaimed matcha enthusiast, I found the matcha in Japan to be amazing at every cafe we visited. I regret not having more!
